782 vs 1862 questions
I may have a opportunity to buy a 1862 for a pretty good price. Would that motor slip right in a 782? Also would there be other things that could be use full for a 782. Like the hydro, power steering ect? Thanks

Basically the same tractor. Engine is a bolt in swap but the wiring is a little different. 1862 has a better drive shaft which you should use. Do a search for Magnum swap into a 782. Lots of information available.
The power steering can be used but the steering shaft and tube has to be lengthened on the 1862 PS unit to fit the 782. All the hydraulic lines can be used but the end fittings may need to be modified to fit the 782. You will never regret going to power steering. I'd use the 1862 as is for a while just to check out the engine, etc.

I bought a 1864, it's just grown from there. The Cubs have replaced old Chevys as my hobby/passion. The only car I have left is a '67 Chevelle wagon. Seems like a good trade off. I can put five Cubs where one car sat and there are no titles or license to fool with! Tim
