It's a Kohler governor.


K's, KT's and Mag's all use the same governor.

if you use that particular governor the motor will surge allot at wide open throttle with no load. notice the offset weights? that's a generator governor.

I noticed that and thought it was odd. Didn't realize there was a governor for the gen sets only. Offset weights would make the governor more sensitive..... it's important for gen sets to maintain a constant RPM.

I was putting them in the stock puller motors I built since around 1998because it made the governor so snappy. they are NLA now so I had to come up with a new method to get that done .

Now you have me wondering if that is what I installed into my 128 motor. I never have been able to completely get all of the surging out of it at wide open throttle. I also didn't know there was a governor difference. Dang it.
