Default Clean Carb. Ford Runs Like A Champ!

Helped mow the back 40 at work last week. We had to pull the carb out in the field and clean it up, but she was running like a champ!

does that tractor have the sherman gear box in it? i kinda see something but can't tell. i love those old ford tractors. my buddy had one with the Sherman Over/Under...which gave it the regular three speeds, three faster speeds, and three creeper speeds. the tractor would scream down the road....he traded it and a case off on a new kubota...i would have kept the ford IMO...lol

Hi Neil, just love them old fords. i've got 2 of them. One's been my grass killer with a 5' woods finish mower for over 30 years. Got plows and disc, have had loaders on them at one time but there gone now. 48 & 51 8n fords. Mike

I'm not entirely sure, as I've only run it a couple times. It might be. I only knew of 3 regular gears, and a creeper. But again, it's not mine, so I'm not super familiar. I do know with that metal seat, my seat sure gets a workout.

Yeah Mike! Per the picture, this one could use a little TLC...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
