Hello it's been a while since I've posted I do read posts though. My 782 is addicted to ether with a cold start. Does anyone know of an easy fix? I've read that the rings could be wearing out but that was on Diesel engines. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Hi well I removed the carburetor and cleaned all the ports to make sure there were no blockages, new air filter. I ran marvel mystery oil through the carburetor but nothing else.

It starts much easier now. Jeff edit, if your engine doesn't have points, verify timing |

I installed new plugs this season but have not changed any points on this engine (M18)Kohler . I have 3 cub cadets with k series engines in addition to 2 more and have replaced & adjusted the points on them but I don't recall ever seeing the points on the m18. But that sounds simple enough thanks for the help

Still ought to start with the fuel in the carb. Plus, usually when the pumps fail it puts gas in the oil..... badly.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
