Reverse safety feature?
I've had a 2146 that has been in my family since new. Its been a good little mower that doesnt get used more than 20-30 mins per week.
A coworker of mine had a 2160 that he needed to get rid of because of a "bad engine" and he bought a new mower. I took it and rebuilt the top end. It was really just smoking due to a bad valve seal. I think it may have overheated and the valve guide moved around leaving no room for the seal. I also put new head gaskets while I was in there. Anyway, I got it all rebuilt and seem to run good now. I was cutting the grass for the first time yesterday, and one think I noticed compared to my 2146, is that the 2160 shuts off the PTO as soon as I reverse the tractor. I'm sure this is some sort of safety feature, but can it be disabled? I guess its just something that I've gotten used to and dont want to change
