I just bought an International 3312 push mower off of Craigslist and need a couple parts to get it going. Ok, maybe I'm not searching in the right place or something, but where is a good place to find parts online. Local shops have zero knowledge of the older Lawn Boys that didn't come from a big box store.
I would also like to find a pdf file of parts and service manuals, so I can get started on it. I think this has a D-600 engine. Unfortunately, it looks like IH assigned their own part numbers instead of just putting a prefix on them like they did for Kohler and Kubota engines. Any help? Thanks, Geoffrey

Geoffrey, I just finished fixing up my 3324. I finally figured out that mine was a lawn boy 8231. Found all the parts on line and there are plenty of them, rebuilt the recoil, carb, primer, hoses, and a few other things. I believe Lew (dark minion) has some of the original IH manuals on them but It took ALOT of research to figure out what lawn boy model corresponds with what I had, there are many. A lot of the earlier models have interchangeable parts. I used parts tree.com to compare when I wasn't sure as sometimes there are subtle differences like in the recoil parts especially. there are still many nos as well as aftermarket parts out there available.

Done a little Web Surfing and found this.........
If this is what you got, then like Alvy said, Lawn Boy was the manufacturer.

The trouble he is having is figuring out which lawn boy it corresponds to. The best way I think to match it up is the air cleaner shape, the location of the primer bulb and the starter button and the speed slider. I had the same trouble awhile back and it took awhile going through diagram after diagram, figuring out which specific lawn boy had the same config. Once you figure the lawn boy equivalent, parts are very easy to get. Pretty much just like what Alvy did.

Ok, I hadn't thought of that. It thought that it was probably a Lawn Boy model 3312 too. Unfortunately, the air cleaner cover is the main missing part. They had added a couple wires to the housing to hold the filter in.
I need a new air filter housing assembly, a new throttle shaft and a recoil spring at the very least. I would prefer the whole recoil assembly though. I'll probably just make the throttle shaft out of brass. Yes, pics are coming up. It looks almost identical to the one above, but mine has metal wheel centers with bearings instead of plastic wheels.

Would anyone who has an International push mower, please post your model number and corresponding Lawn Boy model number. It might be a HUGE help to someone in the future.

Here it is. It'll look a lot better once it's cleaned up. I bought it from the grandson of the original owner.

Looks identical to mine, I have the self propelled version. Wheels are newer replacements. Looks good. Do you have the handle? I can take some pictures for you of the parts you're missing, here's an air cleaner box, the one I have is white but the same. Uses a square rectangular foam filter

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
