IH Cub Cadet 682
I have a ih cub cadet 682, KT-17 engine I bought a carburetor for it a few years ago, I think a Walbro. It has been down for a while and I can't remember where I bought it. I don't know if it is a series I or II, the plate appears to be missing. I would like to get it running again. I live in McDonough, GA. If anyone around could help me I would really appreciate it

I don't know a whole lot about the red machines, but I THINK the most noticeable difference the series 1 and the series 2 engines is that the series 2 has an oil filter and the series 1 does not. Again, most of my knowledge is on narrow frame machines and K series engines. I just believe I've come across that information from threads past. Someone who knows more than me will chime in and help.

I think the OP is asking for someone nearby him to help with getting the 682 going again. The OP claims to know little about the tractor and has a carb for it.

Robert, without the identification plate it may be difficult to determine without that spec number. Some of the early series II didn't have the provisions for the oil filter. Now if yours has it, you'll know by looking at the front right side of the block if sitting in the seat. There would be two little bolts used to block off the port. Then it should be series II. If there's nothing but a flush flat spot well then it could be either. May be some other ways to tell.

Thanks for the replies, I am still wanting to get it running again. I don't get on here very often and do not know how to use the site very well. So, anyone who can help tell me the best way to communicate here. I would love to get better acquainted with ways to discuss topics....Thanks Robert

The Model & Serial tag is located on the LH side (as sitting on the tractor) of the frame as shown in the attached picture.
Copy the numbers down and post therm here.
