Next restoration project
Picked this up at an estate sale today. It's a National Cash Register Model 2 made in 1890. One of the earliest models made. All the keys work, but the drawer is stuck closed. Heavy! Couldn't carry it out by myself. Should be interesting!

Awe inspiring to think of the craftsmanship that went into making something like that.
I'll bet it's weight was an unexpected insurance against theft!

Very cool
 Just imagine if you will the stories that thing would tell if it could. Where it's been, all the different hands and currency that's been put in and taken out over the years...  Old stuff is interesting as heck

Thanks bullockcm; I may need their help. I have 3 flags missing and the top sign. It's coming apart slowly; 3 brass screws that are being stubborn. The drawer sliding mechanism is corroded pretty bad. Experimenting with vinegar as a brass cleaner.
