New To the Forum
Hey guys newb here!
I just wanted to say hey from Pilot Mountain NC. I bought my first Cub Cadet in 1997, a 2155 and still running strong. Things I've done are: replaced the deck 2nd year, bagger, pulley bearings a few times, 3 carburetor rebuilds, 2 starter rebuilds, tractor tread rear tires, and new front tires few years ago. Still a good running and good mowing piece. I'm in the market for a early model to restore and would like to find a nice Lo-boy mower. I looked at a couple good ones last year and should've bought one but didn't. I'm currently restoring a '52 8n Ford and have a 72 hi Case 470 restored, which I use. I would also like to do an IH model A sometime. I look forward to hearing from you all and seeing your tractors. IMO Cub Cadet is an American Tradition. One that's been lost to most. Breaks my heart to see one for sale at tractor supply built like junk without a drive shaft. Built like Murray! Yuk. Anyways now you know a 'lil about me.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
