Angry Lost my job

Well because of some local good old boy politics my employer was forced to close today. They are paying me through next week to liquidate the parts and shop supplies. They also are paying me my unused vacation pay and gave me several thousand dollars worth of shop equipment.
I really hate the thought of looking for a new job at my age but I guess I have no choice. At least my wife is out of school and has a good job now.

I'm really sorry to hear that, I know it's a hard thing to go through. A lot of times when one door closes another one opens, and even thought it's hard to see at the time, it turns out for the better. Most important thing is to believe in yourself, and act with confidence knowing that you have the strength to accomplish anything you want. This is your opportunity to start your own business, or change fields, or get into a better position. Good luck and keep your head up

Thanks guys! I'm sure something will come along soon the main thing is keeping my wife calm. I was over the garage ,safety ,and purchasing for a family owned school bus contractor. They brought me in four years ago to turn the company around after the original owners sons had ran the company in the ground. We were well on our way until the school system appointed a new director. One of his buddies ran buses in another part of the county but wanted in our district. After two year of picking away at us they finally found a glitch in the contract that let them pull all our contracts.
It is all in the lawyers hands now so we will see. I already have a couple of job offers but plan on waiting through next week to weigh everything and choose.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
