Default Super frame question

I have the opportunity to buy a super frame with the dual brake setup still on it, the guys not sure what model super its from but I'd say it's from a cyclops judging by the pic. What I want to know is if this frame will work on my 1811 and if not can I atleast use the dual brake setup? Thanks

I'm sure it'd work on it but I bet it'd be more secure if you towed it rather than set it on the tractor but then again I'm not sure how much work it'll be doing just sitting there

You should be able to transfer most of the 1811 parts to the Super frame. Except for the drive shaft, front axle, steering and fenders. Trans linkage is also longer on a Super. Dash tower and hood should be a bolt on.

I own neither machine, but I'll take a swing. Someone will correct me if I'm way off base.

I would think if you have external brakes on you 1811, you should be able to swap the brakes over. I'm sure you will need to do things like shorten the brakes linkages and drill a few holes.

Does the super frame have axles? Supers have taller front axles, so if you use your 1811 axle, you will have a "low rider". Using the 1811 rear axle and tires will level it out, but hamper the use of decks and such.

Here's a link to the ad, its the shape of the pedals that make me think it's from a cyclops.https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/grd/5249133449.html

Why would the front axle not work and steering not work?

The only difference between the frames is the length, and fender pan height.. So any linkage parts will need to be longer. The frame is lengthened right at the dash tower, so your manual steering linkage should be the same.

Can you put the dual brakes on the 1811...... sure. But they aren't bolt on. The pedals won't fit like they do on an SGT because they hit the side panel. (That's where the SGT frame is longer). Also, because of lower mounting fender pan there is issues getting the linkage under the fenders not to interfere with the mower deck.

Grab the frame. It's worth having. Even if you tuck it in the corner.

Supers have a larger front axle and power steering.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
