My Dad (who gave me my first 1811) had a Maytag 92 hit-n-miss under his workbench for the past 10 or more years. Several times he tried to give it to me. This past weekend I brought it home for a good reason. I'd like to try and get it running for Dad. I was told on Thanks giving day Dad has lung and liver cancer. I'm hoping the VA doctors are wrong, but dad has lost 45 pounds the past few months.
The main reason for my post is if anybody has any parts for a Maytag 92. I'd like to borrow a ignition coil mine tested bad. Also will need a hub for the flywheel if it runs. I know I could join a small engine site and ask that. They wouldn't know me from Adam and I wouldn't loan something to a new guy on a site either. If I can get it to run any I'll spend the money and fix it up. Thanks folks for reading this. Clay |

im sorry to hear about your dad, i hope the docs are wrong and if they're not i hope they can do something about it. good luck with your project.
edit- there appears to be a pretty good amount of parts on ebay and complete running engines for $250 or less.

First hope the best for your dad ![]() The Maytag model 92 is a throttled engine, not a hit and miss. You may want to look over at the SmokStak forum as they have a section for the Maytag engines. That forum is big enough you may find somebody local where you can go to check out the engine. Jeff |

IMG_0385.jpg Got the grand kids to help with the tear down last night. I still can't stop smiling. I told them how the engine ran the washing machine and they thought that was funny.

In doing some clean up on the Maytag 92 I found a Cub connection. Must be a sign.

Getting the Maytag back together. Just needed one more part to get it to run. Sent a message to a man on e-bay. He bent over backwards to help me out. I was tearing up telling him my story. I can't wait to hear it run and see my dads face.
Thanks guy's for the support. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
