Default Dozer Blade "Ears?"

OK I'm stuck for the time being with a 42" dozer blade.

I hate calling a a dozer blade a plow. I think "plow garden" and "dozer snow" push piles. Anyone think that way or am I losin' it?

Thinking of adding ears to the sides of this (small) 42" wide dozer blade.
Similar to a snow blower, I think(?).

Then again why bother? The Grandsons are cowboys, "Yeah snow!"
I should smack their little butts. Imagine wanting more white, cold, wet, ugly snow to push around the drives?

IH official referred to them as a "Blade", whether a front or backfill.

Blade sounds right, I'm awake now. Push earth, snow, piles.

"Plow" I always think "turning the earth" or "farming."

Around here... Front Blade.

Now that we're sure what attachment we're talking about... Did you mean "adding ears" or maybe adding Wings to make the blade wider?

Depending on the amount of snow and how wet it is, it's been my experience that for my needs, 42" of blade is just about right.

Clearing 3 or 4" of dry snow from even a fairly small parking lot... Yeah, a 42" blade would pretty much suck.

Around here, what the county/state uses for snow removal has always been referred to as snow plows, even though they are 2 ton trucks with blades on the front, so I have no problem with that. Nor do dislike pushing snow. What's the problem? I'm sitting on a tractor, using my hands to operate the controls while my machine does the work. Everyone talks about seat time being so precious, so what's the deal? Cold is no problem if you know how to dress, which, come to think of it may be the issue, I worked outside my entire career, maybe some of you guys work in an office and just don't like going outside or don't know how to dress for it.
As for the blade itself, all I've ever had is my 54", but then again, a 42" would just mean more seat time, right?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
