I just bought my first cub cadet, a 104. I was looking for a snowblower for it. I was wondering what snowblower would fit it, and if a mule drive would be necessary to have a snowblower. All feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

First, welcome to OCC
![]() The 104 is considered a Narrow Frame (NF) tractor. The following Snow Throwers can be easily mounted to your tractor: * QA36 * QA42 * QA36A * QA42A

![]() Roland posted the models that fit. The QA42A ( and 36 ) are adjustable width mount so they fit either NF ( like yours ) or WF. The mule drive is part of the snowthrower ( a snowthrower is a single stage unit and a snowblower is a two stage unit. ) Here's my QA-42 mounted to my 125 ![]() |

Something else you will want to consider. To be most effective the snow thrower housing needs to be kept full of snow, or it will either not throw well or clog OR both. Keeping the thrower housing full depends on the amount of snow on the ground and the ground speed of the tractor.
Your best chance of keeping the housing full of snow with a gear drive tractor is to use a tractor with a creeper gear.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
