I was at a customers house today when I happened to see something quite interesting sticking up out from a pile of stuff out by an old shack. so across the yard I go to check it out. this is what I found when I got over there. no one was home so i'm not sure if he's willing to part with it, but I will be returning to find out. is there any parts missing that I would need to hook it up to a cub.

I do not think it is for a cub, but if you get it for a me price it will be worth it.

I don't know, but its pretty sad that its sitting there rotting away!! Scoop it! Even if it is missing parts, I am sure you could get it for next to nothing and find the parts eventually. Either way, get it inside and stop it from rusting and rotting away.
What's with people!! ![]()

You found a treasure! It's the main assembly of a Haban Sickle bar mower. I'd try to get it.
If nothing else, it would be great for parts.

I bought a 1864, it's just grown from there. The Cubs have replaced old Chevys as my hobby/passion. The only car I have left is a '67 Chevelle wagon. Seems like a good trade off. I can put five Cubs where one car sat and there are no titles or license to fool with! Tim |

My Dad found a Haban that was missing some parts. He modified it to fit on the back of a IH Cub Cadet with a tiller attachment.
![]() ![]() Dad removed the pulley and turned the tiller drive so it is facing towards the rear. The rear 3 point lift raises and lowers the cutter bar. It only takes 2 pins, lift arm and PTO driveshaft to install or remove mower.

I have always thought Dale's Dad's setup was great. Seems practical to me. It doesn't require a dedicated tractor and relatively easy hook up.

I caught up with the owner of it today. After a little talk and showing some interest in his other stuff and tractors. I got it for $75, hoping to have time to pick it up after I go and get my new to me 108. I'm really interested in that rear setup, expecially since I'm setting up a 1250 that I just picked up a tiller for!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
