Default Cyclops hood question.

Part number 710-3214 - the double ended stud for the Cyclops hoods. I have never removed one. Never laid eyes on both ends of it. Now they are NLA. Having thoughts of replacing a hood. The defunct hood has hex head bolts installed through from the outside. Are these double ended studs available from hard ware stores or Mcmaster Carr? Anyone have a picture?

All help appreciated!

Steve

Steve

If you have bolts in the hood from the outside they holes that the studs fit in are oversize and won't hold the studs. I may have some studs laying around, I'll have to check my stash of odd ball parts.

This will repair the holes in your hood and also is good for gluing broken parts.

Would you still have two studs- double ended for my 1440 that you would sell me? or know where I can get them
I am afraid the plastic hood will crack if I leave it the way it is.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
