The 1641 with deck
Picked this 1641 up today. The plastic have no cracks. It runs and drives, but the carb needs a cleaning.

Looks nice, what is the deck? Looks small.
In a more general question, why do so many 5-6-782s (and their newer descendants) have 44s on them? I'd think the higher hp twin cyl tractors would have 50c's or 48/54gt's on them (I realize the 48/54s weren't out until the Cyclops). I've been trying to find another 50 or 54 around here for over a year and it's hard to even find a tractor with one on it. Seems like everything is a 44, or even a lot of 38s. Any ideas? Or people buying cheap when they were new?

Looks great! Again, thanks for your help with my (grandsons) 1641.
Perhaps early but, we just mowed earlier this week. The Cub ran and mowed like new.  Editing this post just 'cause. The 1641 and it's 48" deck has quickly become our "go to" garden tractor. With lots of time (retired) and grandsons eager to drive, we're over the top with maintenance. This weekend, two of the boys are staying with me in the barn.
