I pulled the carburetor off my 782 today. The engine is a KT17 series 2. I'd like to clean the carburetor. I haven't torn it down yet but it's a non adjustable Walbro. The only numbers I've seen so far are 473269 stamped on the inlet flange and 84-112 on the throttle plate.
How do I go about identifying the carb so I can search for a rebuild kit? Does anyone have any information on rebuilding them? I figure I'll tear it down, throw it in some carb cleaner, blow it out and put it back together but it's always better to get some feedback from someone who has been there and done that. I've read that the non adjustable Walbro is junk but I'll clean it and give it a shot so any information is appreciated.

They all take the same kit. Just order one for your tractor, or engine. Go to partstree, or cubcadet.Com and get the part number.
The Walbro doesn't likely have a replaceable needle seat. |

Thanks J-Mech. I'll check it out. Just wondering how I identify which model Walbro I have. Also wondering what Kohler will replace it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
