Default Hi Newbie here from the "land down under"

Hi all, i have recently got hold of a Cub Cadet 1000 feb/1975 after repairing some botched wiring and a quick carby repair (Pinholes in the Float) The cub is up and running it does need a good clean and a repaint. Having troubles sourcing parts in Australia notable the 44a deck spindles. But hopefully efforts will eventually pay off. Well hello to all and if anyone knows any Australian contacts please feel free to PM me.

First, welcome to OCC........

Good to see you have one of the older Cubs for your tractor. A very solid and rugged tractor.

I am not familiar with Cub Cadet parts sources in Australia, but there are several outlets here in the States that will ship to Oz.

If you have troubles and need assistance, we can steer you in the right direction.

Smile Thanks for the Welcomes.

Work on the "Old Girl" has come to a stand still due to health issues but makes for more time for Research and Parts collecting. Again Thanks for the Warm welcome.

Welcome aboard , there are a few members on here from the Great Southern land , MTD do the parts distribution in OZ they are in Victoria
However I doubt if they have stuff for your old girl
As for the number of Cub Cadets they are reasonably popular along with Toro ,MTD , John Deere and Husqvarna
Greenfield are an Australian brand and are bullet proof
Oz
Look what I found for you

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
