Longer Clutch Arm with Deck?

I haven't bothered to look under it yet but I was curious if anyone was running the Midwest Super Cub long clutch arm with a deck and if it interfered?

That's what I'm probably going to buy for my 1200. What was suggested to me and what I will do is buy one, cut it to length of the original and drill the hole for the clutch rod. No reason it can't be done. I bought one from cub cadet and the new one is way to short. Then returned it. They don't have one like the original in the same length.

What tractor is this clutch set up in?

Motor mods done?

What disc and spring are you using.

What are you going use the tractor for ....pulling or every day user?

It's going on a 108 with a slightly warmed up 10 horse with a Kevlar disc and red spring. Tractor will be used for daily/typical house work (snow blade/blower, grass cutting, etc.) with a plow day (hopefully) thrown in once in a while. As soon as I find a decent k341 I plan to build a "168" with it.

I have a IH Cub Cadet 100 with a warmed up K241. The clutch set up in my tractor is a Kevlar disc, stock clutch arm and a blue spring. I have beat juice plus 50 pounds of weights on each rear tire. Traction and horse power is not an issue as this tractor pulls a 10 moldboard plow at plow days.

You don't need a red spring in a Cub Cadet that is a daily user. The clutch pedal is hard to push in. You will run out of traction before you spin the clutch disc.

The blue spring, kevlar disc and stock clutch arm will do all you want to do.

I run a Kevlar disk with a stock spring in my 108 and as merk said the tractor will loose traction before the clutch slips, the red spring wont do much but make your leg sore.

I was just checking out the blue spring on the Kerber site. I didn't know this spring existed or I would have gone for it to begin with. I hate to buy twice but for ~$25 I think I will!

Post up some pics of your restored 108 Olds! Judging by your user name I have to venture that you're a big block Olds guy? My dad and I restored a '71 442 rag top years ago.

Yea i be had plenty of Oldsmobiles over the years but haven't had on for about 12, the last olds I had was a 72 cutlass s but I sold it when my wife and I moved in together, still not sure if that was a good trade.

I just got a new phone yesterday so this is the only pic of the 108 I have on it.

haha you'll have another one! It's amazing how prices on NOS and original panels have gone through the roof! To restore one today would cost a fortune compared to the early 90's! I honestly think Mecum and the like have done more to hurt the hobby (for the average working man) than help it....
