Hello all,

My name is Jim and I just joined the Forum today. I have a couple of IH tractors and am always looking for tips for restoration and mechanical tips. I restored a '51 Farmall Cub in 2015, am in the final stages of restoring a '69 CC 106, and just obtained a '71 International Cadet 60. I'll finish up my profile tomorrow (it's started, just not done). I'll be posting some pictures of the Cadet 60 tomorrow as it's an upcoming project and I know there are some smart Cadet people on this forum and I hope to get their input on it. It looks like a fun project!

Good to be on this forum! Happy Fourth of July to everyone!

The pictures I mentioned yesterday are attached. Two are of my '69 CC 106 (with only minor mods), two are of my un-restored as yet '71 Cadet 60, and I threw in my '51 Farmall Cub.

The serial number on the Cadet 60 is 54493T, just to confirm it's year.

I'm looking forward to getting some good input on the Cadet 60 restoration as it progresses!

Thanks, ya'll!

Oh yeah, I live near Myrtle Beach, SC

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
