I would research using a rear from a IH Cub Lo-Boy .... 154 or 185. They had a diff-Loc as standard equipment and the rears were much the same as cadets.

I'm gonna call BS on that...I've never seen or heard of a diff lock on any of the Lo-Boys, and there is no mention of one in the service manual. The carrier is the same as a CC as far as I can see.

100% correct Matt ...... Good BS call. My problem was I had bought 2 tractors at the same time, a Massey Ferguson 1010 & a 154 Lo-Boy. I didn't keep either of them very long. When I wrote that I had gotten them mixed up. It was the MF 1010 that had the dif-loc. I realized as soon as I read your post that I had gotten them confused. Lucky for me that people your age have to forgive people my age when we get confused.
Sorry for the mis-info Andygumpers

You gotta get your tubes done and axles made. $700 maybe?

About as close as you're gonna get I think.....could go with a spool too....full time lock.

I bet it would act like a spool because the tractor doesn't weigh enough to make it slip.

Somewhere I read that you can swap the gears with Chrysler gears...
These lockers are popular with Jeep guys.

Yup, I have a Jeep

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
