Default Another will it fit question ?

Hey guys great forum. I did a search but have not found anything yet so thought I would ask here. I have a 982 and found a snowblower on CL, its a QA36AU111 will this fit my 982? he is asking $300 which seems like a good price to me.

Simple answer, NO.
It's not even as wide as the tractor is.

The QA36 should measure 36" wide, your 982 measures 43.5 wide. J-Mech is correct with his above posting.

You could add a set of snow wings giving 8 more inchs which would give you and overall of 44 inch's.

I would pass on the QA36, I paid $95.00 for mine which is going on a Cub 102 that has a 10HP.

I don't know how much of a fan you are of FaceBook but in my area a number of groups was created to sell items, you could post a want ad for free if you have them in your area.

And of coarse CL is also good....Best of luck.

Am I not correct with the thought that a QA-36 will not fit on a 982 regardless of the width of cut. Wouldn't it need to be a QA-36/42 A?

Uncle Lewy and Uncle Sam....you guys are a hoot!!!

$300 seems to be a lot for that snow thrower, but I am in a different geographic area than you, so that may explain the price difference. A cub WF blade would work well on your 982. I like the blades over the snow throwers, as they will also move gravel, sand, mulch, and dirt, besides the snow. You can advertise on Facebook and CL.......and you can also advertise in the TRADING POST of this forum!!!

IMO a blade is better than a blower. A blade you can use year round for many different things and a blower just takes up space if there isn't snow. (unless you tried running dirt through it. I wonder how that would go....

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
