Default Hydro Relief Valve Question

Can one change from a manual relief to an automatic relief with no problems?

Is lengths different that makes one manual vs automatic, or internals?

Got a hydro that needs both valves, but company I found only have the automatic valves.

Mower these will go into is not a Cub, but it uses same Series 15, type U hydro.

Here's a pic of mower. 1990 Kut Kwick using Onan 20P as power. It's a commercial I use to mow 5 acres. Hydro is seen in 2nd pic. It's a beast and weighs in around 1,200#s.

Take your valves out (be careful not to get dirt into the pump) send them to this guy for a rebuild.

I have switched three tractors to automatics. Only problem is sometimes the tractor is not where I left it. They will roll away with autos in them.

Trying to put my eyes back in--that machine looks like a slightly modern version of a Yazoo! I know you've been running it a while, just be careful with those things--I'm pretty certain the danger is why Yazoo disappeared. I'm certain its a mowing beast, turning corners are what scares me on them. Careful if you ever drive it with the deck off, seems to me it tries to turn into a catapult with the operator being the payload! The last one we worked on was a bit of a refurbishing--guy bought it not running. Anyway we got it going, sent it home and it dang near threw him off within the first 15 minutes of use. He got rid of it in a couple months. Hers a pic I lifted off the web of the style I was referring to. Good luck on the hydro repair.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
