Default Be safe out there!

We had an incident at my work last week that left a few people really hurt! Just wanted to say be safe.
Take your time and don't cut corners, stop for a second and see what's going on around you. We get in routines and just loose track of what's going on until it crashes around you.

So last Wednesday was a normal day just walking to get some hydraulic hoses in the next building over. I walk out the door and see our whole paint shop up in smoke. One of the paint booths exploded and a huge fireball went rolling through the building blowing garage doors off both ends. They still haven't released what caused the blast. Could have been a number of things. Trucks we build run on compressed natural gas, our heaters are natural gas, or even the paint being sprayed.

The miraculous thing is that 35 people that would have been in that building were offsite in different location for an annual safety seminar. The people injured were burned really bad and will have a long road to recovery.

I just don't want to see anyone else hurt!!

Prayers sent. Explosive fumes are nothing to fool around with.

Side question, what do you guys do? I see 3 concrete trucks in the yard.

I work for mcnealus it's a segment of Oshkosh. We build concrete and refuse trucks. It's a pretty nice place to work. Definitely didn't think anything like this would happen!

I thought that was McNealus. I used to own some S series Oh My Gosh's. I just checked out the web site, I see they are into CNG power for trucks, wonder if they had a leaker? They have gotten into a lot more than just mixers from when I did business with them.

Haha yes! We only do the rear discharge units. The big front discharge ones are done up in Oshkosh, WI. I'd like to own a few I wouldn't want to pay for them though. Definitely not cheap.

Sad to hear this and prayers sent as well. Looks like plenty of ventilation on the roof but you never know if it wasn't on, working, etc. Burns are some of the worst injuries. Hoping the injured can find some comfort in the coming weeks/months.

We have a McNielus branch right down from me in Lakeland, Fl and see those guys putting cement and garbage bodies on every day with small cranes.

CNG trucks getting more and more popular down here. Big logistics company here called Saddle Creek started converting their fleet recently.

One of the guys thought maybe someone accidentally turned the vents off when they left for the training and the people inside didn't notice.
They're at the best hospital in the state. This morning we got word all but 2 were released. The 2 worked side by side in the booth. It's just sad to see how fast life can change.
We hear about the guys in Florida every once in awhile. Most of the time it's on 20 below days and we all joke about transferring!

CNG is getting popular! With the price of fuel going up there was big a demand. It's mainly refuse that we run CNG. Mixers not so much. I don't think the engines are strong enough. No emissions on CNG engines though.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
