I thought I'd share a couple pictures of one of my recent projects, a 230 hp Cummins diesel. It got a complete rebuild starting with a bare block. I'm not sure if it will fit in a Cub though, fully assembled it weighs in at a dainty 2800 pounds.

That brings back memories. Had a bunch of those in our concrete trucks. If I recall the NH230 was a 250 block with a 220 crank. What is it going in?

Cool pic of the Dodge Bighorn! A friend in our truck club has one with the original NTC-350 Cummins in it. Quite a truck in it's day. This NH-230 is going in a 1970 Brockway similar to this one. The engine belongs to a friend, I just did the rebuild. The black and red Brockway is mine.

That's a factory photo used in the brochures
I understand that truck survives and has been restored. We had one show up at a tractor show in MN last year. Brocks are cool too!!, Looks like the same cab as the late 50's early 60's Diamond tee and A-car cabs. I cut my teeth on a B Model w/2 sticks, then on to an F model 15 speed tri-plex before the Maxidynes came out. I've Gotta get out that way and check out the museum. |

Just to the left and above the yellow oil fill knob. The new diesels have way to much plumbing on them.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
