Dont really have much use for a forklift but the price was right, on the last service check the mechanic told the PO it needs a head gasket. It runs and everything works, service record for the last 8 yrs was included. Came out of a liquor warehouse that has been closed.

Nice Lance. I spent my first ten years as forklift mechanic at a Clark dealer. Did plenty of work on that model. Should have a Mitsubishi 4G63 in it I believe. Looks decent. What's the plan?

Nope, not that warehouse. Lol
Alvy, any guess on approx model year? Im not sure what the plan is but Ive just gone through the service records and it seems to have been well maintained, new king pins and tie rods, new drive tires, new seat, regular oil changes. Only bad thing is it reportedly was over heating if worked hard on hot days... rad tested fine but when pressurized there was a small amount of moisture appeared in #4 cyl so the service center recommended a new head gasket... the owner declined the service and chose to rent a replacement forklift.... that was in June of 2016. It was a bit stubborn to start at first but seems to run fine, everything on it works, backup beeper, lights, hour meter(3260 showing), two full tanks of propane.... I think I stole it. Lol

Depends on the serial number but I'm going to say early to mid nineties. Blown head gaskets/cracked heads were a common thing on those engines. Bad thing about most forklifts is the fan blows the air through the radiator which means it sucks all the debris off the floor under the engine like a vacuum and pushes it into the fins. It's got an aluminum head too.
Clark was big back then and there were a lot of those GCS/GCX models sold based on the success of the previous model that had a bullet proof all cast iron Waukesha engine in it. Good luck with it.

Many times I wish we had one around here but there isn't room in the shop to keep one and it would have to be a "yard" model to navigate the farm road. If you have space and operating area those things are great to have around!

Few question rise Lance!
-Do you have the space to store and work with it inside? -Do you have enough lifting work to justify owning one? -Do you think you can recover the money you invest in it if you sell it after few years? -Do you already own a front loader? It's your toy, you do the math and make the call

Thx Alvy, I found a manual online last night and noticed it was printed in 1990 so I was guessing early 90s model.
Its a small lift, rated for 2500kg and without the forks it actually takes up less floor space than some of my garden tractors. It has indoor tires but my yard is flat enough that shouldnt be an issue, according to the manual outdoor air tires are an option. I dont have a working loader, YET, but I have a complete setup from a MF1010 I think will work on my 154 Loboy, just havent started on that project yet. Also have the Cockshutt 50 with a loader but thats another future project. My own projects usually get set aside while I work on all the stuff I plan to flip..... such as the CC126 and 1450, Kubota front mower, a generator....etc, etc. I'll get good use of it while its here but eventually I will likely sell it, and make a profit Im sure, so far Im only into it $400 plus $75 to a buddy for hauling it here with his truck and trailer. Great buy Lance. You'll be surprised what that little guy will pick up, rated for 5,000 pounds. The manual is right and wrong I believe. Your model, the GCX, has what's called "cushion" tires on it which is what the C means. With The sister model, GPX, the P stands for pneumatic tires. I don't believe you can swap tires because of the model specific fender wells on both are different. None the less, great buy. Im getting a small Mitsubishi LP that's a little smaller than yours, 3k capacity, and putting up a couple levels of rack to store some Cubs 2 high. Gotta customer of mine giving me some old rack so hoping to expand the collection up not out.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
