I should hope we don't need them! But, they were popular during the Cuban Missile Crises. I remember my dad saying how close we were to that confrontation, and that a bomb shelter could be bought as a kit.
No bomb shelter worries for me.

A bomb shelter is overkill .....I remember back in the early sixties our teachers taught us all we had to do in event of a nuclear attack was to hide under the desk.and we practised it on a regular basis. I can't believe my parents sent me to public screwll. But I'm sure a large part of the population has thought about bugging out and prepping. It's becoming a dangerous world again. Better to have it and not need it than to wish you had one when you do need one.

Not me. I'm not worried at all about bombs going off in the good ol' USA. Not to say it couldn't happen.... but if it does, and one hits me, then it was meant to be. I trust my country and it's leader will take care to keep it from happening. In the last 200 years, and two World Wars, it didn't happen in the continental states anyway. I think there was far more of a threat during the Cuban missle crisis, back before we had a defense system. Nope. Not worried at all. Save your money, it's better spent elsewhere. ![]()

Having lived and remembering the Cuban Missile Crisis, America is nowhere near the tension of that event. The technology is vastly better than 1962 and our weapons, and means to respond are far superior. Nope...not worried.

If it ever gets that bad, then I just suppose the good Lord is calling me home--no shelter for me. Lets say you survived a large scale bomb strike, the world as we know it would be over anyway.
Now, depending on where you live, a STORM SHELTER may not be a bad idea. There was a news article a year or two ago about a fellow that lost his house and wife in a tornado. A few years later he got hit again--lost his house but he and his daughter survived as he had built a storm shelter to take refuge in.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
