New Tractor

I have been thinking about a new mower, tractor for my home. I have narrowed it down between the Kubota BX series and the John Deere 1025r. I know, why do you need such a big mower. Because I could get everything I want, FEL and a good 60inch deck with all the goodies. I am leaning now towards the Deere just because they have been along for so long. Can any of you guys give me any advice?

I've heard more stuff for the botas is American made than the Deere's....Don't know how true that is......I know if it was me and I had the coin i would go with the b series bota....

Both are pretty good I think Ronnie. I love my Kubota B7500 and it has never let me down. They both have been advertising a lot lately and I think Kubota has 0% financing. Mahindra is also another player but I don't know much about them.

Dad has a 1025R, and I used to work for a dealer that sold Kubota. Set up a whole bunch of BX2200's when they first came out... and got to play on them.

Yeah Ronnie... Deere has been around since the 1800's but that doesn't mean that they build a better machine. They also have great marketing. Which means more cost to you when you buy. Dad has had just a few minor issues with his Deere, but I'm not impressed with it. Basically, it's not much better than a Cub Cadet SGT.... but it does have some nice bells and whistles. Yes, it has front wheel assist, which is a must with a loader, same size deck, same size tires, not much more HP, just.... just a bigger package.

Basically.... Deere just costs more. That's about it. If your only other choice is Kubota, go with the Kubota.

Mahindra I've heard is decent. Yanmar still builds a pretty nice tractor. Kioti is basically identical to Kubota, but cheaper and carries a better warranty. (If you have a dealer nearby, you should really look at Kioti.)

I'd buy a New Holland. For good reason, but I'm not going to start a debate.

Ronnie, not that it's comparable, but we have a Bota L3400, and it's been a spot on great tractor.
Have to remember, JD's are the color of what? Money! You'll spend more going green, and not necessarily get a better tractor. Go check them all out, see what you like about each, then what you don't, and narrow it down, then sleep on it, and go buy what suits you best.

I had a JD 1023 and a BX2200.... Sold the JD... BX is a great Subcompact...

I have looked at them both, the Kubota BX2230 with 60 inch deck, FEL, and a couple accessories. I really like that tractor but I think I would look for a lightly used one. You can get a good deal on a low hour machine and save a couple grand. They have a left over BX1830 at my local dealer and they are pushing that one with a good price?
The Deere is more money, and has about the same options. I will not use it hard, just mowing grass and the stuff I have to do with a pitch fork around the house.
I think the Kubota is the one I would like to have, now to look around to see what's out there used? If I can't find a used one, well it's a new one.

Most of this info is from Tractor Data and I question some of the dates like the 70 series ending at 2014, I think it should be 2016 and they didn't have anything for the 50 series.

Ronnie I am going to add my 2 cents. I would consider a New Holland. When I bought my TC33D I looked at Deere and Kabota I think they are all good. I found the best value in New Holland. For Equally equipped and size tractors the Deere was over $3000 more and the Kabota was more with less features. I went with the New Holland which was the most bang for the buck and since new in 2002 have had no problems at all. My neighbor also has a New Holland sub compact similar to what your looking for with 60" deck and a loader and he loves it and has not had any issues. It's a little small for me basically same size as a SGT. I have no issue with any brand but JD is way to over priced and Kabota just looks outdated to me. Might be worth a look.

Shop around and see who gives you the best deal, who is the most convenient when it comes to service. Try them all out and get what is best for you. Be Happy, Happy, Happy
