Default CH25 in a 782

I know this is an older thread bump. But, can anyone comment on the CH25 in the cub cadet. Was the shaft diameter 1-1/8" and not 1.4xx like Kohler says? I'm looking at a CH25 for my 782, but realized the shaft diameter according to kohler is larger than 1-1/8". I'm not familiar with what options might exist if the diameter is larger than the standard output size.

So you plan on using the existing PTO from the K motor? If not, and have the PTO from the CH then it really doesn't matter as long as its the same size pulley... If its smaller it will spin the deck slower and vice versa...

My hope was to get a PTO from the CH25 series tractor, my concern is, Cub Cadet used a unique output shaft size, different from the standard Kohler size. 1-1/8 vs 1.4xxx.

According to small engine warehouse the CH25 in the Cubs came with 1-1/8", maybe they are wrong. Or, did Cub truly use a different size?

SEW is not wrong. I have a Ch25 out of a cub and it has 1 1/8.
Kohler would make an engine however the customer wanted. Check the spec number on the one you are looking at to make sure.

There is no "standard" output shaft size. Like Terry said, they were made to whatever spec the customer wanted. There are several different crankshafts depending on application.

Cub Cadet typically used 1 1/8" shaft, but there are exceptions.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
