Default New(er) truck

I've been sorta in need of a new vehicle for a while now. With a baby on the way in the fall, it was definitely time. I found a nice looking Silverado online on friday- 80 miles away- so the wife and I went to look at it on Saturday. We didn't feel like coming back and everything lined up, so after 15 years I've finally got a new (to me) truck. It's a '12. Went from a '97 S10 2 seater that I got in '02. Thankfully my wife new what to do at a dealership since the last time I bought a truck my dad bought it for me when I was 17. I like it. It met almost all the criteria for what I wanted, especially the color. It came from Oklahoma so the underside is pretty mint. I'm thankful I've got a job that supports me buying a newer vehicle that I wanted and an opportunity to do so.

Not a cub hauler cuz I got no money left to buy one. Although I guess it could be since I can haul my 147 around now....

Thanks for looking.

You'll love the 4 door. Unless you constantly haul stuff, no way I would want a truck other than a 4 door. I seem to have more stuff that needs to go inside so it can be locked up, as opposed to hauling stuff in the back. Nice and roomy to haul people as well.

I tend to go the other way when it comes to 4 doors on a pickup truck. I'm a bit aggravated that it seems like that's all I can find, 4 doors and in most cases a uselessly short bed.... I wish that they didn't do away with the cab and a 1/2 configuration. That's one thing that will keep me in an older truck until there are no more. But if it works for you that's what counts.

The nice thing about the 2012 is it will have the trans brake, the older ones didn't. Mines also a 2012 and I average 14mpg and I have had it up to 21mpg on the highway. I can pull an 18' trailer with 5 cubs on it and still get 15-16 on the highway. Congrats on the new ride.

To each his own, but I was in your train of thoughts Dodge Trucker until my ole 92 chevy laid down on me. Went truck looking and found a good deal on a 04 GMC 2500. Still wasn't sure about a 4 door but after I drove it awhile and seen what advantages it has over a 2 door, I was hooked. Only problem I have now, is the wife want drive her car now, she always takes my truck.
Daniel you gonna love it nice looking ride.

They still have the cab and a half, as you refer to it. Different companies call it different things. GM used to call it extended cab, but now it's called double cab. They all have 4 full doors now, but the back seat isn't as big in the double cab. It also comes with a standard size bed.

Nice looking Chevy! I'll be in the market for a new vehicle soon. We're leaning toward a Tahoe.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
