Ok, my first inquiry here. Picked up 3235 with 54 inch deck, Sims cab and snow blade. The differential has a hole about the size of a soda can bottom. I was also given the parts that used to be inside said differential. Owner said he was just in his driveway and it blew. I took pics of the hitch plate and damage which I am posting. I think the tractor was used to pull much more than it was capable of. The pics shows damage to the ball hole and it is bent downward. Has this happened to anyone else under normal use? If so what if any upgrades are out there to lower the chances of it happening again.
I am picking up a rolling chassis this weekend with working hydraulics so I intend to replace the rear on my tractor. Since its out though I was thinking on some preventive maintenance before bolting it up to the frame. I also have a 3204 with blower, triple bagger and thatcher. that I use almost to the point of abuse. Pulling trees out of swamp etc. so I know these are tough tractors but this 3235 looks like someone missed a gear at 5 grand. Yep, he stomped on the diff lock with the wheels spinning and it sheared the locking pin off. Then it got wedged between the case and the gear and the gear won. We have seen it a bunch of times on here. Never engage the diff lock with the wheels spinning.
What model machine are you picking up?

The drawbar looks like one that has been used, not abused. You ought to see some of mine. ![]() |

A little JB Weld and some duct tape and it will be good as new.

Picking up another 3235 gentleman bought it for the 54" deck and wants just the motor and headlights. Driving from western Mn. to southern Iowa to get it Sat morning.
So do ya think the blown differential can be rebuilt with a used case or is it just to costly. |

I agree they do get wore down and mine has a slight downward bend also but its from my wife and I snatching trees we cut out of a swamp.
I am also finding it amazing the amount of attachments that are available and can be fabricated for these machines. |

http://www.ihcubcadet.com/forum/mess...tml?1509485044 I would be all over that for the money. That was too nice of a machine to rob parts from. ![]()

Yeah, its the one down by davenport. He is going to drive it on the trailer so I can see it run and we are pulling the engine. He has the engine loose so it should be quick. Leaving at 1am to get there and back by Sat evening.

shame it's getting parted out, it seems to be in good condition.
just as well I guess, they seem to be pretty expensive machines to keep running. I've talked to Keith via email quite a bit this week, we've crossed paths before, he's a good guy, making a good deal on that thing. ![]() ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
