White 4-30L skidsteer?
I've been running a construction business on the side for quite a few years, and it's gotten bigger to the point that I'm ready to quit my full time job and work for myself all the time. What that means though, is a few more toys. I've been looking for a skidsteer for quite a while, and I finally bought one today. It's a White 4-30L. I don't know much about them, and neither did the guy I bought it from. From what I've researched, it has a 1300# lift capacity. It has a 4 cylinder Ford gas engine, and an enclosed cab. I ordered the manuals on it just now. Does anyone have any experience with this machine? I would mostly be using it for carrying materials around, and I'll build a platform to put on the forks and work off of, and then for moving snow around my place. It's a 1974 model, but runs real good, and the hydraulics seem really good.
I know this has nothing to do with cubs, but I always get good advise here. If anyone has any input, it would be much appreciated! I also picked up a 1986 GMC 1 ton dually dumptruck. I'm a Ford guy, but I got the best deal known to man on the thing, and since it's for my business, my wife wasn't even that mad. I love it!

Stitch: The skid-steers of that era are handier than sliced bread!! Of course, I kept mine in the Cub Cadet family and is an IH 3200A...

Well, bad luck turned into good luck on the dumptruck. I was all ready to go pick it up today. when I realized the banks weren't open. I called the guy and he said he wouldn't wait until tomorrow, and was going to sell it to someone else. I got on craigslist, found a better truck, for less money, and closer. Plus, this ones a Ford, which clearly makes it a far better machine!

I think this ones gonna work out well. I've been communicating with the guy, and I paid him via paypal tonight.
Here's what I got.... 1974 F350 dually dumptruck. 460 Ford, 4 speed manual, needs a carb...$750. More or less the exact truck I wanted. I'm going to pick the carb up tomorrow, rebuild it the next day, and go back for the truck the next. No rust, motor runs good, hydraulics are good. I don't think I could've asked for a better deal, plus it's white, so it'll be easy for me to get the business name on the doors. For you Ford haters, see, I've had this argument before..... I have a buddy with a 80's era Ramcharger pickup with a wimpy 318, and he LOVES that truck. He kept running his mouth about my other Ford (91 F250, fuel injected 5.8, Cooper ST's). His truck has better tires (pitbulls), so once when we were camping, we decided to hook up butt to butt and see what happened. I drug him 50 ft and all his tires did was dig holes. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt that the 318 stood no chance. There you have it. A video exists, but he has it, so no guarantees that it will ever make it past his phone.
