Default Cub 104 clutch teaser spring issue

I'm looking at a 104 to possibly purchase for a plow tractor, but the one I'm looking at, the owner says it breaks a clutch teaser spring every year. He still uses it weekly to mow grass, but what would cause it to break a teaser spring every year? Think it could be assembled wrong?

Assembled wrong, worn driveshaft, misalignment issue, I haven't done one lately but if assembled correctly with the right parts it should not break !

That's sort if what I thought, I've never put one in, but I believe i saw in another thread that the way it is shown in the parts diagram is wrong?

Is this throw out bearing a Cub Cadet version or a cheap aftermarket version?
The after market throw out bearing is thicker than the Cub Cadet version.

I recall the same thing about the parts diagram being wrong and somewhere ( likely here ) seen the corrected version, I may have it copied or noted it somewhere and I'll try to look for it tomorrow and send it if/when I find it !

I think my 108 had a hatefully worn/grooved/taper on it where the throw-out bearing slides and after replacing the driveshaft things aligned better and clutch worked much smoother without breaking the teaser spring !

Not sure, but if I can make a deal on this machine we will find out.

I've never worked on a cub cadet clutch before so this could be a learning experience!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
