Was wondering if anyone has done a "how to" with pictures on how to split a 100?
I'm still having brake issues so I'm guessing I'll have to split the 100 to get to the brake area. Any help would be welcome. Thanks |

Thank you for those links. Am I correct that I will need at least 2 gaskets when I perform this procedure? I'd like to preorder all that I need before I attempt this.

I'm having trouble with the rear end drain bolt not wanting to come out. I've been hitting it with PB for a couple of weeks now but still not wanting to move. I've given it a few taps with small hammer. Is heat the next step? Or should I just keep on with the PB? Thanks

Probably the drain plug on the lower front of the transmission.
Just a pipe plug is all. get a good grip on it, it will come out. Open end wrench or a square farmer nut socket, pipe wrench or vise grips as a last resort. Don't screw up the square part the wrench grips though I sure would not use heat on a gearbox full of oil. |

Yes it is the square bolt on the front of the lower transmission. It will not budge with an open end wrench.

I would remove the rear cover to drain the rear end. Odds are you will find the same stuff I found in the rear end of my Project Uncle Dick 70. I used brake cleaner in the rear end after I removed the rear cover.

Thought about that Merk. Will probably end up doing just that. You said you used brake cleaner to wash out the rear end? Figure I'm goin to have to open up the whole thing anyhow to work out the brake problem. Still would like to get that drain plug out.

I tried one time to remove that plug with no luck. It's easier and gives you a chance to inspect and clean rear out.
You do not have to remove the reduction housing from the trans...just the cover. It's easier to repair by removing the housing from the trans.
