Default Flywheel pulley problems

Well I started to look into what else needs done on my 127 and I saw that the Flywheel/starter pulley was loose. Not good! So after I took the belt off I was able to move the Flywheel fore and aft a good 1/4". And when I took the S/G off one of the 2 bolts holding it on was broke off inside. So I took the bracket off and got the bolt out. And i can see the Flywheel was chewing away the bolt head on the upper S/G bracket. I can hardly wait to see what lurks after I take the PTO off.
Well I was getting jealous watching everyone else working on there cubs so I didn't want to feel left out. To be continued!

I got everything off. PTO was really easy. I don't know if thats good or bad.
So here's what I see the right side of the keyway is flared on the top. The left side is fine. You can see that the key reflects that. When I rotate the key to put the full 1/4" on the bottom and slide the pulley back on it's tight. So with a new key I think that will be OK. Looking at the PTO from the bottom to the top something looks wrong. I can see the split ring is not right. Going to take the PTO apart now and see yet another problem. Heres a shot of the bolt head the pulley was rubbing

Well here's a surprise. The metal above the recess for the split washer just peeled away.
So now I need a pulley. This day just keeps getting better. At least that's not as bad if the keyway got really buggered up.
Guess a post in the wanted section is next for a PTO pulley. I'm really not going to be using this tractor for mowing anyway. I may just blast it and paint it and put it back on the way it is. I have my 2155 for mowing. I'll just be patient and one will pop up sooner or later. https://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/...attach/jpg.gif

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
