Default 124 creeper attachment question

Hey guys, I got my (new to me) 124 up and running and cut grass for the first time today. I realized that I'm going to need the creeper attachment, I have a hilly yard. I made a post in the "Wanted" section for one.

My Question is: are there instructions for the installation somewhere, it looks like I'll have to modify the driveshaft, anything else as far as modifications I'll have to do?

thanks!

Download the 124 manual. I'm pretty sure it explains the creeper install in here

I dug through my archives, and found a Creeper Installation Manual. I'll send this manual to you, via the email address listed in your profile.

I just uploaded that Manual in the Technical Library Section. You can see it and D/L it, from there.

I realize that we can have some very hilly yards here in PA, but I'll be curious as to whether a "creeper" will fit your bill. The speed reduction when in "creeper" mode is quite drastic and for cutting grass could become almost agonizing. Please keep us informed as to how it works out for you.

Agreed Ironman..

Here is a chart of the speeds you should expect with the creeper installed. Granted you can always put in high gear and get your normal speeds back but the creepers are really just too creepy most the time. As for the cool factor of having one.. I am putting one on my 100 but I doubt I will ever use it much

Your money your tractor. So best of luck with it no matter what you decide to do.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
