I have a 482U1113 and a 482U1116 both have outer blades that measure 16" with the center blade being 17".

So, you're saying that they have three 16" blades?

They can't all be the same because the center blade has a different part number than the two outer blades. Note the different callout numbers in the exploded view. That and 16 x 3 = 48, so with 3 16" blades there is zero overlap, which means the deck would either not really be 48" cut, or just cut like crap with the wrong blades.
Center blade: IH-490476-R1 Outer blades: IH-490472-R1 What's keeping you from taking your own deck off and measuring the blades on it? |

I don't have one....I'm making one with a rear chute, and mine is only a 42", so I was wondering where they added the extra 6".

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
