Default GM have given us the flick

I guess it would not make the news over there but General Motors have decided to completely withdraw from making right hand drive vehicles
Makes you wonder about the management skills of said company when once they were the biggest by far now they are down the tree with Toyota and Volkswagen slugging it out to be the biggest vehicle manufacturer
We made cars here under the GM Holden brand and at one time they were being exported to a heap of countries as Holdens or Chevrolets including the US under the Pontiac branding
Ah well as Ned Kelly said just before they hanged him "Such is Life"

Yes, I did here about the departure of the Holden brand. There were no reason(s) that we were told. I "assume" that it was lack of sales, in that it is usually why companies do this.

IMHO.......GM has been in turmoil since their 2008 Bankruptcy. Seems there is a lot of ill advised decisions being made.

Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Chrysler and now GM have left Australia with no auto producers. I think I missed a few brands maybe?

Yes once the Tax subsidies dried up and the Free trade agreements kicked in we could not compete with our small market and the $5.00 per hour wage rates elsewhere
The report was that GM are no longer going to make Right hand drive vehicles , they have sold one plant in Thailand already and as for the Opel and other plants in Europe that make R/Hand drives no announcements are available

Yes it made the news in this country and Michigan where GM used to call home
Things have changed in the last 70 years, some for the better, some not.
weather/fire conditions also.
Sometimes, it seems folks are kicked when they are down.
Hopefully better days will come soon

Better days have been around for awhile as my wife and I both drive Volkswagens , mine made in Argentina and hers in Germany
Being a left hand drive only manufacturer will make GM an even smaller player in the car manufacturing game

I once drove a '41 Ford that somebody had converted to a left hand column shift. Not sure why it was done unless he just wanted to keep his paws wrapped around a female on the same seat while he changed gears. It was a little awkward but I managed. Not sure I could handle driving on the wrong side of the road.

Mike , who drives on the wrong side of the road you or us , now that would be a good debate but on this forum I am in the minority

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
