Default Cub Cadet Lawn Sweeper left wheel not turning

I just purchased a very nice condition Cub Cadet lawn sweeper tag reads 193-366-100. Overall appearance is very good however there seems to be a mechanical issue with the sweeper. When pulling it forward the wheel on left side, when back is facing sweeper, does not turn. It locks up.

Any ideas whats causing this? And if so where do i get the part

Does anyone have a copy of the service manual for this unit?

Also is this a No. 1, 1A or 2.

Thanks

I would suggest pulling the LH wheel off. Sounds like the "racheting" mechanism is either dry or broken.

I would suggest or local Cub Cadet Dealer or the Internet.

These are Tiller model numbers.

AGillis, I found a thread on another venue, the guy was looking for parts for your same model. He was advised that the sweeper was made by an outfit named Parker and it was a Model TE-7736. Here is the link that he was given for a parts drawing.....

Here is the link to the thread.....

I removed both wheels, cleaned all the old grease, took off the engagement gears and found two roller bearings that must engage the propeller shaft. The left side was dry as a bone. Cleaned everything up and applied some waterproof grease, reassembled and all is well again.

Thanks for the advice

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
