Default 1811 fuel pump

the fuel pump on the 1811 started leaking, this is the second time in 4 years. i bypassed it so i could finish mowing using gravity feed. I would like to put an electric pump on it, i have one from a 2182 i could use. is it a low enough pressure pump to work with my carb on the opposed twin 18.

Are you buying/doing something wong/wrong.
I've got pumps on those double breasted Kohlers that are 20+years old.
Where is it leaking, diaphragm? fuel into the crankcase? externally ?
Did it come loose and leaking engine oil?
Sometimes the needle valve leaks in the carb.and the fuel pump gets blamed.
BTDT

The one on my 782 has been on the engine for 15+ yrs with no problem too.

first pump was original and started leaking into oil,i was lucky to catch it early. i had a used spare off of a bad engine so i installed it so i could get back to mowing. after a couple hours running this spring it started leaking fuel out the side of the pump body.

I just thought i would go electric to prevent any engine damage if i have one leak internally again.

Advice?
electric will work if you want to go that way.
Me, I'd go genuine Kohler mechanical for a few bucks more.
They are made of plastic now (no corrosion)
and use an "O" ring instead of a gasket on the mounting.
You can sometimes find favorable prices on the 'net/ebay
Either will work. equally well, your choice.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
