Hi, I got an old CC125 on jackstands in my garage. I removed the hydro valves because they were stuck closed. I cleaned them up and got them sticking out again but they would likely stick again if I use the lever box.
However, with them in the out position, I can spin the rear hubs by hand. It like I need to prime it. I have no idea on how old or how much fluid is inside. The control lever doesnt allow them to spin but the linkage moves although the fat small spring attached looks like it seen much better days. Am I supposed to do something to prime the system after removal of the valves? And am I able to that with the tractor on jackstands? |

First, welcome to OCC...........
![]() In order to properly test the Hydro unit, place the tractor on the ground. Start up the engine. Make sure the "button" on the Check Valves are up (or outward). Move the Hydro Lever either forward or backwards. Report back on your findings.

So it needs to be on the ground to engage? I was confused about this. I have blown out tires so i have them off i was expecting to see the hubs spin while on the stands. Does that explain why i was able to spin the hubs by hand?

You can NOT check the hydro on jack stands and no engine running.
As I outlined prior, is the proper way to check the hydro unit.

yes i read what you outlined ...
I have blown out, dry rotted tires. They dont roll. Does it need to roll to engage? Are the hubs supposed to spin while in the air with the valves up? |

as I remember mine spin by hand,while jacked up and not running.... but it won't push an inch when on ground and not running.... also when jacked up, under power 1 wheel spins.
Id check that fluid, to begin with. see if you can get enough air in for at least a run down the driveway and back under its own power |

When you spin the hub, the hub on udder side spins udder way..... Did you observe?
Often, the stuck relief valves may come back up with the engine running.

Yeah i did notice the hubs spun in different directions... you say one hub should spin while on jacks... engine running and neither spun... im going to put the rims back on and see if i feel it lurch.... theres no rolling on these tires and i want to assure i have drive before replacing them.
How tight past handtight should those valves be? I also gotta figure out the linkage... it seems to move back and forth fine but the short fat spring and washers look pretty worn. |

No dice with it on the ground. It doesnt move with the valves up while on the ground and no amount of pushing gets it to kick.
I removed the fill plug and there is no oil visual. I guess its time to spend some money on an oil change at least. Would the hydro engage with low or no hydro fluid? another thing: One of my valves just wont pop back even soaking over night. I manually move it into the outright position. Does that valve have to pop back and forth during normal operation or does it work as long as it in the upright position? |
