782D steering column replacment
Hello everyone!
First time posting here. I am replacing a steering column on my father's 782D that had a cracked steering box and just started looking at how to remove this. I just purchase a rebuilt unit from Rightway Vintage cub cadet parts. Just curious on how to access the 2 U-bolts securing the column? Looks like they may be a challenge to get to? Any suggestions as to what needs to be removed would be appreciated before I start tearing into it. Thanks in advance!

Best way is to remove the battery tray and gain yourself the most room possible. Take out the battery. Start by removing the fuel pump bracket from the tray two bolts, then disconnect the connector for the power wire going to it. Now you can disconnect fuel lines but it will easily move out of the way with them still attached so you don't get air in the system. Then on the other side disconnect the connector to the voltage regulator. There is also a circuit breaker next to it, just pull it out from the plastic isolator. Now your tray is ready to be removed, just four bolts and it should come completely out.
