Hi Jeff's Cub: That is the data plate with the IH Kind/Code/Serial number...
0032 = mower deck 0016 = factory code for which version (bearings were different) U = manufactured at a US plant 102209 = the one-up serial number The 0016 deck should probably be a 42 or 48 inch deck made between 1968 & 1971. The 0016 deck does NOT use the ST-745 water pump style bearings. It uses a modern style spindle with roller bearings. To obtain the deck size, measure the widest distance between the outer blades (cutting width). Myron B CCSupplyRoom

OAK: A lot of it is in IH CPE-2. However, I have been at this for many years and have anotated mine as I have gone along and gathered information. Some of it like the Kind/Code can usually be found in IH Price lists...
AFAIK, there is no single listing for Optional Equipment (Decks) like there are for tractors... and often the items were made by a 3d party That's exactly why I began my Cub Cadet collection, I also began my library collection... to have such info available. Its a lot of time, work and occasionally expensive. Myron B CCSupplyRoom

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
