Default Sleeve hitch?

Hi fellas, fairly new to cubs. I have a question about sleeve hitches. Can you add/put one on any cub that doesn't have one. Is it expensive or difficult. Also, are the Brinly implements plentiful or expensive. I live in East Tennessee, if that makes any difference. I came from a small 20 acre farm in Michigan 6 years ago, just got 1 acre now so don't need a big tractor. I'm thinking a cub will fit the bill. Sorry for long post, just a little background. Thanx, Scott.

Yes, you can add them to pretty much any narrow/wide frame cub. Newer ones get tricky -- what model do you have?

I would look for something with hydro lift for heavy rear implement/usage, so oldest being 149/169 up through the Cyclops series.

A 782/1711/1811 would be a great start to look for cheaper on marketplace, preferably with the Magnum (1811/2) or KT 17 Series II line engine. Brinly is plentiful but $$$

You will need the IH three-point setup before you can utilize the sleeve hitch components.
Typical 3 point for a narrow frame,

Thanks for the replys so quickly. No cub yet. Just wanting to know so when I come across one ,I know that it doesn't need to have the sleeve hitch. But that I can add one to the tractor. Thanx again. Scott

This is simply a sleeve hitch.

A 3 point would look like this:

Narrow frame, wide frame or 82 series.
They all take a different 3 point setup
When/if you get a Cub, look for whatever setup it requires.

A Cat O would work best with Cat O implements but can be utilized with sleeve hitch implements by use of a sleeve hitch adapter.
Confused yet??

Isn't it well regarded that Cat 0 is the smallest 3 point?

Conventionally the other style has always been called a sleeve hitch outside of literature made before the 3 point system was "standardized."

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
