This was a Craigslist find, 20 min from home.
It came from the original owner. Original with a dozer blade and 38" timed deck. Looks to be garage kept all its life. Runs and drives, new chana carb and battery. Has an oil leak on one rear axle, couple drops, fluid level is ok. No weather checking on all the tires. I took the dozer blade off and put the deck on, chana carb is giving me a hard time when a load is put on it. I am gonna put on a correct one and see if that makes a difference, it prolly will... Got it for a Lew price.heheh

Those China carbs sure aren’t great. Don’t really see the appeal either, when you could spend just a shade more on a used Carter and a Kohler rebuild kit.
Of course you probably have a whole wall of new-in-box OEM carbs waiting in the wings anyhow

So I put the old carb the PO gave me back on, runs fine now.
Set the low idle and high limit with this fancy tachometer thingy I got for $1.00. New battery cost more than the tachometer thingy... I put a set of wheel bearings on it, much better, steering is not sloppy but I could change a few ball joints The leak seem to stop, But I will prolly end up replacing the seal. Cut the grass today with it. First time I ever used an Original to cut grass, came out nice.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
