Hi all.
I stopped using my 107 to mow the lawn in 2019. Mule drive is getting whooped and I didn’t think it was right to keep running the ole girl without some TLC. Which with new kid, I didn’t have time for. Got a Husqvarna TS348XD, with locking rear diff. It’s OK. Wish I had got a Simplicity. The Cub has been sitting for two years under a tarp. I parked it on plastic and ran it dry with Stabil. Recently had some excavating done and figured this would be best suited to pull the equally as vintage York Rake. Cleaned points, checked fluids and she popped off within 5 seconds! Ran her about 6 hrs the first day with no issues. Have more to do and will pull a roller as well. This experience rejuvenated my love for the old beast. I’ll continue to get some parts to freshen it up and all updates will be on this thread. Thanks!

My 100 is my yard clean up tractor- snow-dirt plow tractor. I bought 22 yrs ago. It wasnt in best of condition. Since, new points, coil rebuilt carb a few times, new clutch. It keeps running. I ck oil everytime I use it. I use Kohler oil. Try to use regular gas, when I can($ 7.00+ a gallon) not ethanol. Those cubs were built to last.

Thanks! It was always reliable. Had the starter generator rebuilt in 2019. Two main things I would like to do are replace left front spindle, tie rods and steering gear gasket? It leaks everywhere. Assume that’s what it is. Next would rear weights, wiring harness, and some paint/decals. Don’t know what order I’ll do things in yet haha.

So far its run perfect for 8 hrs or so. Only thing is i may have issue with volt regulator or wiring. A complete, new harness is on my list but I want to figure whats wrong first. Its so nice to be using it again.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
