Default Lift arm

I have discovered my most recent acquisition (2284) does not have a implement lift arm, I guess it has just been a mower all its life? With the snow coming I want to use a blade or blower. I've looked on the net and have discovered they are pretty expensive, at least to me they seem pricey, so I'm thinking about making my own, has anybody made their own implement lift arm? how did it work out? what length did you use from center line of the pivot point to center line of the lift rod?

Yes, I believe it is.

IH was completely out of the picture by the time these Supers rolled out of the Brownsville plant.

Not to say you can't adapt your IH blade to the Super, but it will be a challenge.
I was lucky and found a #401 last year complete with the lift arm for $400 and glad I did as you don't see
them come up for sale but once in a blue moon.

I have an extra hanger I plan to modify to reach the original cub rear mount or I may extend it enough and add some haban style mounts. I also have the original hanger to change back so I can still mount it to my 1863.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
