Default 3206 Muffler

I'm in the process of reviving a 3206 that had been sitting for a while. It seems that mice or wasps or both have made homes in the muffler. Can anyone tell me what the inside of this looks like and if it can be cleaned out? If it can't be cleaned, is anyone aware of a suitable replacement? Thanks in advance!

I think most if not all of the 3000 series use the same muffler (part# 651-3003).

They pull off pretty easy. Have you tried sucking it out with a shop-vac and knocking it around to get anything out of it?

Or check with the sponsors at the top of the page. There should be a good used supply of these since they were used across all the 3k series.

They all use the same Muffler across the Board, as OAK said. The 3205 and 3208 Use different exhaust Pipes from engine to Muffler. The Muffler is Only available used, I found a Great used Muffler for my 3208 with the correct Pipes In very good condition. The Muffler I had on the 3208 Originally, someone had welded the exhaust pipes from the engine to the Muffler, and the tailpipe was rusted through and cracked, so it took awhile to find the correct exhaust pipe. I Used John Deere Muffler Black On the tailpipe. It seems everyone Ignores Maintenance On the tailpipe, as every used Muffler I found had rust on the tailpipe.

Been my find using the engine at governed rpm's while mowing or other WORK, will spit the junk out the exhaust pipe after it incinerates it inside the canister.
FYI: is is advised it will not smell like a fresh mowed hay or corn tasseling.
more like burning garbage but it will soon go away.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
