I have a 2019 SLX5 ST2 model 13AZA2CZ010. This thing is driving me crazy first trying to find a factory service manual and second since late last year it has been hard to start. I did have mouse damage to the wiring harness to one of the coils. I fixed that about 3 seasons ago. I found that the injector was not spraying fuel. I pulled the injector and cranked the motor and no fuel. I pushed on the connector on top of the injector and I cranked it over again and fuel started spraying. I assembled the injector and put the top cover back on the engine and the air filter and air filter cover back started the engine, cut and swept about 2 acres ran for over 3 hours without an issue. I started the tractor this morning and it fired right up. Any ideas. Anyone know where I can find a factory service manual. I have been to 3 Cub Dealers and the one dealer that I purchased the tractor from said there was no factory service manual. I don’t hardly believe that they do not have a manual on a piece of equipment that complex with EFI. Some of these dealer mechanics have a hard enough time working on a carbureted engine. I used to have a small engine repair business long ago. This thing is hard to figure out without electrical prints. I am not only a Free Methodist Pastor, but I am an electronics engineer / technician. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Only Cub Cadets Pastor Dave.
Not a lot out there yet on the EFI models that we have seen. Especially not a service manual. We have lots of new members with error codes that we cannot look up. What engine is on your mower?

It has the 679 cc EFI. Are there different variants of that engine?

I am not sure. I do not know much about the new Cub Cadets. Just learning. Must be an engine made for them. Probably a Chinese engine.

It is not a Kawasaki engine, according to what I could find out it is an MTD designed and built engine.

Can anyone tell me why Cub is so secretive about this engine? The rest of the tractor is pretty much a standard MTD build with a few modifications. The XT2 is a step above what the box stores sell. I am having buyers remorse over purchasing a unit with EFI, which is one of the main reasons I bought this tractor. I hate to replace the tractor, but whatever is wrong is going to hard fail one day. The parts for the engine EFI unit are very expensive, $670 for a fuel pump because you have to buy the tank with it. I’m considering purchasing a 22 to 24 hp carbureted engine and a standard bottom fed fuel tank and going old school with this thing. 6 years on a tractor is a short life span. I worked on a 12 year old Craftsman YT3000 that has not had much maintenance since 2017. I changed the blades, the belt for the blade drive and a belt guide. Other than that the tractor runs good even with a 21 HP Briggs Inteck. Never had the valves adjusted and still runs. This Cub cost double what this Craftsman cost and has more than double the life of this Cub. Sorry for the rant, but if I could find some information like electrical prints and service procedures I could figure out my problem. I don’t want to pay a dealer and do without my mower for a month or more. Very disappointed in the lack of information provided by Cub Cadet / MTD.

Not a Kawasaki I think LCT Builds them for Cub Cadet.
The EFI engine In the Cub Cadet Line Have the Most issues and are the Most problem Prone MTD has not Produced a service Manual for the XT1, XT2 and XT3 series tractors For XT3 Series they say to use the 2011 GT & GTX2000 series service Manual XT1 and XT2 use the LTX1000 series service Manual which can be found here https://www.ccpartsnmore.com/cub-cadet-service-manuals

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
